Accounting/Finance double major?

I am thinking about majoring in accounting and finance, but I am wondering how long this would take and what my job outlook would be. I am mainly interested in working for some kind of local government, then maybe moving up to a state or federal level government agency. Also, I thought about going to graduate school. What would be some good degree programs to look into for grad school? And by the way, I plan on going to Virginia Tech. Thanks in advance.

1. At many universities this would be a double concentration within a business major and would not take additional time if you select your classes carefully. At some universities where accounting and finance are majors in themselves, rather than concentrations in a business major, you would be allowed to double major, but at other universities you would need to major in one and minor in the other as they would be considered too closely related to each other for a double major to be allowed. You could do either of these plans without taking extra time if you select classes carefully.
