Where can I find an investment with an "annual interest rate of 10%"?

Today Yahoo highlighted an article on investing that contained some tired old advice, namely investing in the stock market to achieve an "annual interest rate of 10%". http://finance.yahoo.com/retirement/article/107884/turn-small-savings-into-a-big-nest-egg?mod=retire-401k. In my opinion the stock market is not a fair game - as it is manipulated by crooks - I have been in the stock market mutual funds for many years and feel lucky to break even. However, I would love to earn 10% on my money. Anyone know how to do that?

  1. in the stock market. find a mutual fund. put money in and forget about it. probably returns 13-14% over next 20 years. 30 year Tbond is 3.97% if you want to try risk free return.
  2. You do not get an "annual interest rate" from stock investments. You get a total return that can be comprised of dividend income and capital gains.
  3. Municipal bonds. Some have 7-8% interest rates and are tax free which is like getting 10% on taxable stocks. If you want 10% by the end of the day though, buy XHUA as it is at the day low on a huge surge of Chinese investors.
  4. 10% without risk...That will be tough. However, there are some alternatives. Depending on what state you are in, I could be more specific. John@planrollover.net
