i have paid a cheque to icici in 2004 via an HDFC cheque. Now ICICI says they have not received it.?

I have the cheque copy as well as the statement from HDFC showing cheque is encashed, and email from HDFC that cheque is credited to ICICI home finance. ICICI cannot find evidence. I complained many times - even second level.no use. what i should do? i am planning to foreclose it? They are showing as pending due? how can i get get back my money

1. contact the HDFC and obtain the particulars of the transaction on the specific date of debit at their branch and the details. approach ICICI with these particulars to verify and confirm. put it everything in writing and wait for their response. if not, refer the matter to Banks Ombudsman for justice.
