Do you “Tweet” or "Facebook" and Drive?

I just came across the following article talking about how drivers are “Facebooking” and “Tweeting”while driving: http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=62123 What do you think about the article and findings? Perhaps this is a public service message, but it isn’t the wisest or safest course of action to use a mobile device while driving. Engaging in this kind of activity puts yourself and others at risk. Full disclosure: As some of you already know, I represent State Farm. I am here to gather your feedback as we work to help people make better personal finance decisions. Thanks.

  1. It's the same as texting and driving. Maybe a little bit harder to do. But I agree, phones and driving do not mix.
  2. I can't believe the people that do that. I myself do not know anyone who does this but it doesn't surprise me that there are people that actually do. Its ridiculous! I am 21 years old so I am no prude but there has got to be some responsibility of people. I have a myspace and all that but its not that important to me that I need to log on while driving. This world today makes it so easy now though to be so mobile electronically. To me its just as bad as a drunk driver. I have a 7 month old son that rides in the back seat of my car and I'll be damned if I support that and take the chances of getting into a wreck with some "Face-booking" idiot!!
  3. Just another distraction that we don't need.......
  4. My cell phone is ''OFF'' when I am in my car and all my calls go to a message centre. It is understood in my office that when I'm on the road that I am away from the phone.
