Can your finance company harress you about late payments?
I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about this or where I can go for information. We are late on our car payment.....we owe for April and they are saying that they can come and get the car tomorrow since we have another coming up due. Can they do this...legally?

- Usually they can call you as many times in a day they want, but can only speak to you once in a day. If you are about to have your care repossessed then you have bigger issue than the phone calls. You should call them to explain your situation and when you intend on paying. If you can't pay then sell the car. Hiding from the situation and avoiding their calls isn't going to help the situation.
- They certainly can and will. My neighbor had her car taken last summer. She had to get up to date with her payments AND pay towing and storing charges before she got her car back. If you still can't pay up they will sell the car and if they don't get out of it (never do) what they have in it they will still come after you and take you to court. They also can garnish your wages. It's really a bad thing to owe a financial institution nowadays. In this economy they have to do all that they can to protect their interests. I'm sorry for the bad news.
- Yes they can. They can comne and get the car legally if you miss any payments. They own the car until you pay for it. You signed a contract and if you do not pay on time then you are voiding the contract. read what you sign !
- Sorry to say but yes.. But they have to be nice about it. Every time a finance company calls. you should record the conversation and make sure you get the person name and where they are calling from. If the people get rude, you can call the management or higher and they will get in trouble. But mainly yes they can call you anytime they want. Also if they call after 9pm or something like that.. then you can ask them to not call at that time and they cant. But just make sure you record it all. Hope this helps..
- Yup they can do that so u better make the payments.
- read your agreement.. call the loan company.. you should of called them when you knew you were gonna be late.. alot of companies will work with people if they know there are issues.. *let the places know* my company can come and pick up my car a week after i miss a payment.
