- Please get your GED. So many doors will open for you. Obviously you can see the limitations when you don't have a GED. Go ahead and bite the bullet. You'll have it before you know.
- I would recommend an entry-level sales job. Sales is the #2 best paying career in the world (behind entertainment and sports - and if you think about it, entertainers and athletes are backed by salespeople...called agents) and you do not need a degree. Advancement into managerial positions is based on experience, 9 times out of 10. I'd look on monster.com, careerbuilder.com, Yahoo! Jobs, or hotjobs.com; just search for "entry level sales." Be wary of companies that offer few details or involve the word "online," though. ETA: Are you seriously going to give me a thumbs down because I'm the only person who didn't say, "Go back to school"? This asker probably hears that every day and there may be a very good reason s/he didn't complete her degree, such as family circumstances, learning disability, etc etc. I'm answering her question - which was not, "Should I go back to school?".
- My advice is to stay in school. Look at all the people who drop out, and go back to earn a GED. They've realized the value of even a basic education. Besides, think of it this way: If I'm an employer, why should I hire you if you can't even manage to finish high school? What would make me think that you won't quit on me too, if the job gets tough? If you really can't stand finishing school, the only option I can think of offhand would be to join the military, and try to get trained as a mechanic. But I bet even they will tell you that a high school diploma would really boost your chances of that happening. edit - you could have mentioned that you're working on the GED. We give better answers when you give us more complete info to work with.
- Without a highschool degree you have lots of options to make 2k a month....lets see...........stripper.......drug dealer..........hitman
- There is no such thing as a good job without a high school diploma. I'd recommend you get your GED. That said, Starbucks seems to rely on seniority and moves its employees up that way. Check them out!
- Can you get a GED? Education is over rated, but for some reason employers like diplomas and degrees. Who knows why? Abe Lincoln had almost no formal education. He did OK. It's a risk, but you could claim to have graduated. Maybe they won't check. If you communicate fairly well, they probably won't bother to check, especially if it is a small employer. Try to find a high school that no longer exists. There must be some around. Make up the name of a high school in a large city a few hundred miles away. Pierce High School in Chicago, say. Make sure that there is no Pierce High School in Chicago, though. If they try to check on it, they will come back and say "we could not find a Pierce High in Chicago" and you will just look bewildered and say "that's weird" "it must have shut down for some reason"!
