what to do now?

I have been going to school for tha past year majoring in medical financing (insurance, billing, coding ect.) I will graduate in dec. of 08 with my associates degree. My parents have recently move about 2 hours from where i study at. I have searched for schools around where my parents have moved and the only thing i've come across is surgical tech. or bio technology. They are building this huge building all on bio research such as genetics, hiv/aids, cancer, and other major illnesses. If i take the course i will graduate in 09. It seems if i transfer i would have lost a whole year and only 3 of the 24 credits i have aquirred will transfer. Yet something keeps telling me i should transfer.I honestly dont know which way to go. Dont know what to do? Any Suggestions?

  1. Finish your current degree then if you want to go get the other one. Having two degree will make you worth a lot more and open a lot of opportunities.
  2. Is there some particular reason you need to live near your parents? If you have already completed one year with the security of living at home, this might be the prime time to strike out on your own, learn to live with a roommate. Two hours is not too far, you could always go home if you need to. But living on your own is a tremendously valuable experience (even if it is not always easy) and will give you the confidence that you can take care of yourself. Everyone should know that they are capable of supporting themselves and living independently. Think of it as continuing education and a gift to yourself. It may not be easy for your parents either, but in the long run they will appreciate the fact that you can take care of yourself and they won't worry about your future when they are gone. They will be proud of you and you can be proud of yourself too.
