How can I get into Harvard Business School despite mediocre undergraduate grades?
My dream is to obtain an M.B.A from Harvard. Unfortunately, I am set to graduate with about a 3.3 or 3.4 GPA. Primarily because I needed to work full-time (financial reasons). I did however, accomplish great things. I have an immense understanding of Finance at my age. I obtained a series 7/63 license at age 20. I've worked at two different brokerage firms and have strived to start a meaningful organization (for profit.) I also take pride in my writing skills, etc. What should I do from now until I apply for graduate school? I already know the obvious: score high on the GMAT and build an amazing resume. Any other tips? By the way, I graduated high school with a 2.7 GPA. I thought I was the ruler of the world and decided to stay home and trade my brokerage account during school hours every other day. Stupid? Yes. At least I stayed drug free! =] Anyways, tips please! Oh, and I was ranked #6 in the CNBC million dollar challenge about two days ago! 130% return on my investment. I figure I'll need the money to pay for HBS. I'm also Hispanic (Cuban descent).

- 1: Enlist in the GOP Right Wing Brigade of Brown Shirts and promise to obey every demand. After all: if Bush can get a so-called "MBA" from Harvard, just about any chimp could do so as well. Your "grades" should have anything to do with it. Or, is it true the Bush family paid some one to write W's MBA Thesis
- the only thing you can do now to start some sort of business and write it on your resume. also, if you can, take a year off after graduation and go to some third world country to do some charity thing. you know those orphan things after tsunami is asia. those helps in your application. and also try find a good excuse for your low grades so that you are better prepared in your interview, interviews are quite important in admission. besides, harvard isnt the only nor the best business school out there. i know that wharton are much better than harvard. and different business school have different strong points. like if you want do finance after MBA, harvard isnt the best choice. so dont put pressure on yourself on getting into harvard. good luck!
