If you sale siding or windows & doors, how do you provide financing for your customers who need it?
If you sale roof repairs, home renovations, home heating & a/c or swimming pools, how do you provide financing if your customers need it to pay you for your work? I need to hear from actual sales people.

- I sell windows and siding. We use a finance company or float it ourselves with a substantial down payment and good credit. Some people use their own banks to take out a Home Improvement loan or borrow against their equity.
- There are two ways of going at it. 1) Financing it yourself. You have to be careful and have the capital to do it (not recommended) 2) Financing through a third party lender. You can read a lot about it in the HUD website (US Department of Housing) http://www.hud.gov/improvements/ Also you can talk to your banker. Make sure he is in the business division. Ask him/her if they are interested in financing your clients or for some referrals of financing companies. And talk to other banks who might be interested in having you as a client and helping you with your customer financing.
