How come managing finances is not taught in middle or high school?

1. I personally think it is because the education system doesn't think of it. It should be though, because not many students who come out of school are ready for the real world.

3. It was taught in my high school. There was a home-ec course, I'm not sure what it was called, but it taught that. Also there was a career type course that taught it as well.
4. Because reckless and irresponsible spending raises the GDP. Look at bush, GDP is up and so is the stock market.
5. They are too busy teaching all kinds of crap that shows up on multiple choice tests, that kids learn and then instantly forget. The education system needs to be updated. Multiple choice tests need to be dumped, busy work needs to be eliminated as does teaching to the test. Life skills such as personal financing should be taught in lieu of certain algebra, geometry, and calculus. The school system in America needs some major overhauling, but it probably isn't going to happen. They are too busy arguing about whether 'Intelligent Design' should be taught instead of actual biology.
