  1. First you need to fill out the 07-08 FAFSA. Until you are 24 you are going to have fill out the parent section of the FAFSA. It will ask you if they filed taxes this past year or not, not sure where it will take you from there but you will need all info on any income they did receive (i.e. unemployment....) Hope that helps and good luck.
  2. No you can not because you are now considered as a dependent student and in this situation they need your parents forms too.but if you can prove that you live independently then maybe you can go on like that which I doubt you can.
  3. make a appointment with the financial aids department and tell them all your questions they will held you.if you want they will tell you how to file in depent of your family.good luck you sound like a good person in need of some help.
  4. Get the tax info direct from the IRS. Check the IRS website for more info When her father and I divorced, our eldest daughter was in college and emancipated as part of the divorce. That meant that she was legally on her own --not legally supported by either parent-- and didn't need any of our financial information to apply for aid. She got a total free ride. Also, call the financial aid office at the college you plan to attend and see how they can help you
