- I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT SUCKS I WISH I KNEW WHAT TO DO TOO.
- go online to the federal student aid website and you should be able to apply online if not call the school where you want to go and talk to an advisor they will help you please don't get discouraged
- You should be able to get financial aid on your own, as long as your parents don't claim you as a dependent on their taxes. Go to the school that you want to attend and speck to a financial adivisor and have them instruct you on which grants or loans are good for you. Good Luck, it will work out.
- the school u go to or are going to go do should be able to help. I'm in the same boat. If you are over 25 you should be able to recieve more money for school. I live in PA and you can go to PHEAA to get help.. ask around the local college or even the HS you went to. good luck. i know how stressful it is..
- This depends on whether or not you file your own tax return - if you do then you can file as an independent and probably get financial aid. However, if they still count you as a dependent on THEIR tax return then you have to file federal aid forms as a dependent and it's probably more unlikely that you will get it. Good luck.
- You should be able to qualify for aid as an independent student. You will need to show proof that you pay your own way, and your parents cannot claim you on there taxes, but you have to live at home for more than half a year to qualify to be a dependent. It sounds like you should be able to get some aid. It would be best to go through the school you want to attend.
- Go to fafsa.ed.gov you can recieve financial aid there for college
- You will need to fill out what is called a FAFSA. It is available in both pen/paper and on the web. You will want to go to the IRS website (different, huh?) to get to the FAFSA link. The web takes a long time and you will need to wait a week or so in order to obtain a password from the government that is mailed to you. Best bet is to probably go to your High school main office or the college's financial aid office and pick up a packet or two. SKIP THE PARENT SECTION COMPLETELY. If you wish to declare yourself an independent student you need to be 23 years of age, NOT 21. OR you will need to provide some type of proof that you are living independently of your parents. You will need last year's tax returns(if applicable) your driver's license or ID The last couple of pay stubs from your job This is a long and arduous process the first time through. After filling it out the first time, then you will just need to fill out a renewal form every January, Feb, or March. Those are MUCH easier and faster to complete. I Hope this will help you at least a Little. GOOD LUCK! And many congrats for going to college. It is a big and scary step.
