Earning a PHD in business/finance ... other than being a college professor, what other career paths are there?

I understand that a MBA is important, and many say applicable even nessisary for advancement in some companies. What about a PHD in a finance or business field? Do people pursue careers beyond the college professor role? Thanks

1. You can work in Venture capital firms, Accounting firms, Wall street firms, etc.
2. They usually teach in college AND do a consulting work (own a business) part time.
3. Business degrees are king, the sky is the limit for you. It is the people with social science and art degrees that should be asking this.
