Are there any other options for me to finance college?

I'm a senior in high school and I'm applying to colleges for next year. My top choice (my few top choices, actually) are a little over $40,000 a year. My parents can really only afford to send me somewhere thats $25000- 30000 a year. We don't have enough to pay for the school I want to go to, yet our income is too high to recieve need-based financial aid. After meeting with a financial planner, my parents also said I wouldn't be able to get any low-interest student loans and the ones I do get will have to be paid back while im still in school as opposed to after I graduate. Do I have any other options or will I have to go to a lower-cost school?

  1. Yes. Call the financial aid offices at the colleges you're interested in. Some of them will have special "oddball" scholarships and loans that you might be able to get... or the financial aid officer may have other suggestions that your "planner" overlooked. Don't wait. Get the info you need before Dec. 15.
