Smart books on finance for college aged people?

I'm 23, in college, plan to graduate spring of '09 and I'm finding it more and more important to become smart with money before I've graduated. For one, whether I get a job in my field (Biology) or start off with a simple job for money, I want to be able to live on my own. A short time living with my parents afterwards wouldn't kill me but I feel they've done enough for me and I want to be as self reliant as possible. Also, I want to be at least a little savvy with investing. I want to be able to take some of the money I earn and in whatever way, make more with it. I don't expect huge returns but I want to start saving for a home for in the future, as well as other financial hurdles. There's so many books on investing/finance are there any people have used that they found useful/easy to understand for a person in their 20s?

  1. Missed Fortune 101 Roaring 2000s Investor The New Life Insurance Investment Advisor I know you didn't ask about Life Insurance but if you read that last book in addition to the other two you will be thankful and realize insurance can help you become financially free. Reading all three or even one of the three will change your financial destiny forever.
