  1. Shouldn't your question be, "What skills am I good enough at that I CAN earn a reasonable living in Singapore, providing services in accounting and/or finance? Remember that you'd be competing among literally thousands of Asian graduates--not only from Singapore, but also from India, Malaysia, and neighboring countries. Then you've got competition from the Brits, Australians, New Zealanders, and of course, those from the U.S. who have the same idea as you do. Go talk to the biggest bank in your area--or maybe even your state. Find out more about what it takes to qualify to even be considered for a job like this one. Then start working on meeting (or exceeding) the criteria to get you in the door for an interview. Do you speak at least one foreign language besides English? Do you have CPA credentials? What kind of accounting is most needed over there: financial accounting (income statements, tax returns--which are already being outsourced from the U.S. to India--etc., or cost accounting, like that used in manufacturing? (do we make or buy the widget and how can we shave a few cents off our costs to increase our profits?) If you go to http://www.ipl.org (the Internet Public Library), and then to Reading Room, to newspapers, and then to continent and country, you can find up-to-date advertisements for jobs. Papers change essentially daily. Good source, including salaries and required hiring qualifications. Also, from time to time, the Wall Street Journal publishes theme sections of ads: engineering, educations, etc. Check them out for foreign opportunities. Good luck.
