Interested in some different inputs in regards to life after college?

I graduated May 2007 with a degree in Finance from a tier 3 school. I never did any internships, but worked a bunch of dead end jobs that lend me no experience in my field. I have been looking for jobs since I graduated and am starting to get overwhelmed because I dont want to go into sales and I dont want a temp jop doing idiot work. Interested in how long it took to find your first job, and can you give me any advice on how to go about looking for it. I currently reside in the city of my youth but everyone I grew up with has moved on or is doing their own thing and we dont talk anymore. It feels like I moved to a totally new city, kind of wierd. Anyways what I was saying was looking for jobs tends to employ numerous job hunt varieties. Networking, Job Boards, Career Fairs, Newspaper, Friends & Family. What method seemed to work best. If anyone graduated in the same boat as me with little or no experience in your field how did you go about getting your experience? Thanks

  2. Your Finance degree qualifies you to be a headhunter candidate. Especially hook up with headhunters specializing in placement into mid-management positions competent finance-based candidates, such as yourself, to handle corporate transactions. Begin with signing onto local headhunters whose labor database contains mostly securities, and brokerage firms, insurance companies, and their affiliates, banks and accounting firms. Normally these "professional" headhunters are listed under Legal Recruitment, Professional Corporate Recruitment categories in your local Yellow pages. Good luck!
