Are the Swift Boat Vets singing anchors aweigh again?

I'm referring to this story, in which the Swift Boat captain, Bob Perry, is bankrolling a group that wants to torpedo Huckabee (feasting on their own kind, I suppose): http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071227/ap_on_el_pr/anti_huckabee_campaign Isn't it time at least *some* campaign finance reform take care of special interest groups whose aim is solely to DESTROY campaigns? Crabby: Never thought of that, but Melanie's correct too, I think, in that MoveOn has done a bang-up job of showing us their nasty side, rather than their educational side. They should MoveOn, themselves.

  1. As a proud vet who rode with the Blackhorse along the Cambodian border in 1969, the sh*t boat vets make me want to puke. The bravest soldiers are always those who are farthest away from where the caps are busting. Bush lied and our soldiers died. What about that do you not understand????
  2. Amen I love the Swift Boaters But as a X Marine they are a bit biased against leather necks. All I can say is if I had a boat I would let them ride.
  3. i'm surprised they haven't gone after McCain Haven't you heard the one about how mccain received preferential treatment and "got fat at the hanoi hilton" - another vile attack by team bush they are truly disgusting people
  4. Get rid of influential groups with special interests like MoveOn.Org too. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/articles/2004/02/16/influence_of_moveon_undeniable/?page=1
  5. The Swift Boat Vets are a bunch of lying scumbag bastards who should be DESTROYED by any means necessary.
  6. Probably. They will no doubt try to create more hatred and polarization in this campaign, ust as they did in 2000 and 2004. And---oddly enough, I hope they are active. The American people are wise to this now. If the SwiftBoaters pull this again, they will simply weaken unity within the Republican party (wha'ts left of it) and disillusion people even more. That's jst more votes for the Democrats! LOL
  7. And this time against one of their own. A few knuckleheads with a lot of money trying to influence the opinion of American voters with lies and innuendo. That is the neocon way.
  8. . The money behind the Swift Boaters was from supporters of the Bush family, but disconnected enough to permit denial. You can not outlaw such ads without violating the first amendment but if the source of the money can be traced to parties and candidates, and made know to the public, then the voters can judge how much importance to attach to the information and the ethics of the candidates who use third party tactics. The Swift boat ads succeeded because the Kerry campaign and the media did not challenge either the truth or the funding of the ads in a timely manor. Full disclosure of the source of the money for political ads is the best solution.
  9. Repubics have quite a history of eating their own. The destroyed McCain during the 2000 primary. Then they made him stand up next to Bush and make nice. I remember that McCain looked like he had a mouth full of cow dookie that day. He went along and did it though...
