my dad bought a car on finance for my now ex hubby he has reg doc and logbk?
ex has been paying for car car but has no proof out of joint acc of mine and his but not actual money to say he pays alone he is no living with someone else and has said he could stop paying for it at any time or smash it up and the debt would be left with my dad

- get ur dad to comtact the finance provider and ask for their advice, also to get it on record what the x has said. Also request for the uplift of the car stating you are paying for it but its registered to the ex. state you would like the finance transferred from your dad to the ex and see what they have to say?

- I'm afraid he's right, in that your dad took on the finance and it's down to him to maintain the payments. One ray of sunshine, however, is that the car belongs to the finance company no matter what the V5 says, so if your ex smashes it up deliberately he can be charged with criminal damage.
- Get on record what your charming ex has said. If you have the car keys,go there one evening, quietly take the car ,and that is it. If you do not have the keys, your dad should contact the finance co., tell them the story, cancel the contract there and then, stop all payments and the co. to collect the car as soon as possible without previous notice to the ex. Your ex will be caught unawares and will have no chance to smash the car. But if he does, sue him for malicious damage and compensation.
- the car belongs to the finance company.. stop the payments and they take the car, but your dad still might have to pay for charges and damages... or do what i did and report it stolen... or better still BURN IT!!!!
