How do I finance a campground purchase?
I am a homeowner...and "in-between" jobs...homemaker... I want to find and purchase a campground. not a fixer upper...but one that is solid and can expand with vision...any advice on how to obtain financing...

- For most business purchases the money to purchase your campground is the single biggest problem and borrowing it takes some real planning. So first consider your sources of funds - you and hopefully a silent partner such as your family, friend, etc. should make up a big chunk (20% or MORE) of your equity (the amount you own). You will need a well documented business plan to borrow the rest of the money you need. For help here see http://sba.org for help and the double bonus is, they might help with financing. I know two successful campgrounds along the Oregon Coast where I keep books that are now personal owners of their businesses. One of these is a KOA south of Bandon and North of Port Orford Oregon that MAY BE interested in selling to you. Of course, IF you don't want to move you have a new problem. In talking to KOA's, the advantage is a franchise with national advertising and hence more business and of course there are others. Hope this helped you get started. Good luck in your quest.
